Silverdollar Productions, Inc.
specializes in the production of fine handcrafted wood products. Over the years we have made clocks, cabinets, spice racks, weather stations, medicine chests, and many other custom made items. We take pride in using fine woodworking techniques and original designs.
I started making things for friends, co-workers, and family. Two hundred plus clocks (and other items) later, we sell nation-wide through internet sales and auctions. We are still a family run business, handcrafting each project individually. We have just recently teamed up with a clock repairman/refinisher in Ohio to produce a line of antique, restored, and reproduction clocks.
We use new movements and hardware on projects in the Greenwood Collection , and handfinish each item usually with Tung oil. In our Silverdollar Clock Series, we use both refinished original cases and parts, and our reproduction cases and parts.
Stock plans are available or we can modify one to suit your requirements (resize, different dial, etc.). We will also use your ideas or plans for your project. We will use "new" wood if you desire, though we prefer to use reclaimed wood in most projects (see below).
The GREENWOOD COLLECTION
started in the mid 1980's. We were looking for ways to build quality products from good wood, but without the expense involved. Almost by accident - making a prototype from some used pallet lumber - we came upon the idea of using previously used wood.
The possibilities became endless, and so did the types of wood we came upon - oak, cherry, mahogany, ash, maple, poplar, and many more.
By using previously used wood we are also saving our fragile environment. Most shipping pallets and crates get burned! And old furniture can become a wonderful new piece, instead of winding up in the landfill.
PLUS...by letting signs of the woods previous life show through, the character of the wood cannot be matched by wood from the home center or lumber yard.
